I like that he’s using the idea of an Ad hoc network also known as ( ISSID ) Independent service set identity .

It’s like peer to peer mode as you know 2 STA with out your AP. to running the Ad hoc network in peer to peer mode :-).

I really love when hes talking about like hi-jacking sessions like bluesnarf or the old bluetooth hack which you got to have the user enter the code you entered, to gain access by Bluetooth like you can call 911 from their phone :-).

I saw a show called “Hustler” – they got some kind of code which they automatically got access to their phone without authentication.

Do you got the skills to get that code, I would be very interested in it!.

    Thanks for a great show HAK5 ! –

I sent this to Feedback email with regard to Jolicloud:

You can access Terminal by pressing ALT-F1, you can also use ALT-F2 to run Linux programs/commands. Wasn’t too hard. 😉 BTW, you can even use the Ubuntu Package Manager too. You can access it from LOCAL SETTINGS folder -> OTHER SETTINGS -> SYNAPTIC PACKAGE MANAGER. Basically Joli OS is a reskin of Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with a few new kernel updates. I’d like to see a follow-up video mentioning all this. It’s a lot better than you gave it credit for. I’ve been using it exclusively for over a year now. I absolutely love it. Well not use anything else.

P.S. The company Jolicloud is based in Paris, France. Joli is French for Nice. And it’s pronounced “Joe Lee”. 😉

Ahh, I tried ALT F1 beforehand and that didn’t work. Didn’t know F2 can pull it up as well. Will have to test that.
Does anyone else think Darren looks like he’s murdering that poor plushie android in the screencap? lol

  • Randy Davis

Shannon, give Jolicloud a chance. When it was released I started using it on a old Asus Intel core2 1G Ram Laptop. It was interesting to navigate, and didn’t use a lot of memory.I don’t have it installed anymore. I use it online in combination with Dropbox now. When installed you will find that you can do just about anything else you can do on Ubuntu 10.04. I had Aircrack, Wireshark, Dsniff, Ettercap, and many others installed.

After seeing the show I downloaded the JoliOS iso into Proxmox and fired it up. Just wanted to point out I was able to drop to terminal via normal CTRL-ALT-F2

I just had to comment on this episode.

I started out using asterisk in the enterprise space.. and it was very stable.

Now I use PBX In A Flash, with the purple script.
This gives you a google voice trunk, so all your outbound calls within North America are FREE.
For inbound I use http://www.didww.com just buy a number and point it at your server.

Greetings! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could find a captcha plugin for my comment form?

I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having trouble finding one?

    Thanks a lot!

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles?

I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. Nevertheless
think about if you added some great images or video clips to give your posts
more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips,
this blog could definitely be one of the greatest in its niche.
    Awesome blog!
