Good news: The forums are back! Bad news: Disabling the forums didn’t lower CPU usage.
I know it’s PHP that’s using to many cycles and I’ve ruled out wordpress and phpbb so the only thing left is *gasp* blogtorrent. I’m tweaking it now but if I don’t see improvement by tomorrow I’ll be forced to disable the BitTorrent tracker. I don’t mind moving the tracker offsite or outsourcing it if that’s what its going to take to keep things running smoothly. Suggestions very much appreciated.

its blogtorrent for sure because it uses a combination of php and python. same thing happened to leo and forced him to move the trackers to a new server. you could set up an actual non-php-based tracker… id even host it if youd like. you know where to find me.
