The Computer America Disaster

Submitted by Darren on March 12, 2006 – 10:08 am5 Comments

Friday night I was on the Computer America show to talk about Hak.5. Unfortunately the show was plagued with technical difficulties throughout the night. Half hour in the board operator could not get me on as the phone network was down in their area. Finally, co-host Carey Holzman calls me from his cell phone, puts it on speaker, and holds it next to the mic. It works slightly better than tin cans and string.

Download the train wreck here: Hour 1 MP3, Hour 2 MP3.

We’ve been invited on again and I’m sure next time it won’t sound so horrible.

I tried for over 40 minutes via several of the stations online and couldn’t pick up your show. Now I see that there were problems. Let me know when it’s supposed to run again.

I listened and you’re right about it being a train wreck, but not just because of the technical problems. He had a lot of damn gall calling Hak.5 amaturish. And then he kept Darren hanging on for the duration of the other interview for no appearent reason. I feel sorry for anyone who listens to his show on a regular basis. He doesn’t seem to know what he’s talking about. After watching Hak.5, Diggnation, DL.TV and TWIT, he’s the one who’s the amature. That show is way beneath Hak.5. If anyone is reading this before listening to the Computer America Show, I’d say skip it. If Darren does another guest appearence, I’ll listen to it too, and hope it goes better, technically and “professionally”.

I can forgive technical problems; storms happen, afterall. And in the guy’s deffence, he kept cool during what must have been a wicked stressfull time. But what is really bad is that he hadn’t done much/any research on it- the last episode he saw was 4.5? Come on! All the comments he was making were based on a really old episode… like, do some research…

Darren, you did awesome for what you were given. Personally I think I’m gonna stick with Hak.5 for now. Can’t wait for the next episode- your guy’s stuff is the best and just keeps getting better.
