Spring Cleaning

Good news and bad news. The good news: the torrent RSS feeds have been fixed. The bad news: our IRC server is dieing a slow and painful death. We’re currently evaluating options and hope to move to a new IRC server by the end of the week. We’ll have details here when that takes place. If you have suggestions for IRC hosting that won’t break the bank we’d love to hear from you.

In other news, we’re evaluating several gamehosting companies and hope to have a Hak5 gameserver soon. We’ll most likely rotate the game every month and schedule an event where the Hak.5 crew will join in the fragging pleasure.

Thank you everyone for the awesome feedback on episode 9, your continued support means so much to us.

    Go with EFnet or Undernet. Some major IRC server that most people use. It’s nice to maybe stick to one server sometimes. :) Or maybe be a bit wild, use ORC, if you want total privacy.

    One more vote for BF2. I’m sure your machines can handle it, the game scales pretty well.

    A Counter Strike 1.6 server would be nice and you can find then cheap.

    Common my gaming pc parts cost less than $400 and it can run CS Source, BF2 and Quake 4 at 1280X1024 no problem

    Cpu: Athlon 64 3000+ OC’d to 2.2 ghz (from 2.0ghz)
    GFX: XFX Geforce 6800 with all 16 pipeplnes unlocked, bought it off a friend for $100

    http://www.clanservers.com is the cheapest. $2 a slot for most games.

    Hey Darren,
    I have an IRC server on a network I’ve been a part of for way too long, six plus years. We’re a great bunch of people, and there aren’t any power hungry opers because we’re all good friends. It’s kind of been a hobby for me to code IRC Services in C since we started the net. If one of you guys wanna come check it out you can find us on irc.cyberchat.org, I’m always in #coders Nick is either datapurge or purge[away].
