Nice epp, rather long but that can be bared with for your special. Had some good content. I much liked how it was a bit more advance this time like you used to have it back in season 1 cause lately its kinda been n00bified.

Also while your away on your 2 week break, maybe we can have a user content hak5. Were us the users can upload our own segments and then merge them to create an epp..

cause i would like to show off a few things, it could be fun.

@Baddox,

there was and hasn’t been any rehearsal for a while now. all of the stuff at the park and around the house was done in one take, with the exception of the end bit on the sofa since wess and i were joking around.

as for h.264, the ipod feed IS h.264. starting with 3×01 we’ll be significantly upping the bitrate on that feed in order to make it look better on the appletv.

as for the divx looking sub-par, thats what happens when you encode nearly 90 minutes of video and try to make it under 400mb. i think the bitrate was somewhere in the 500’s. yikes. i normally shoot for 800-900.

Good episode, great content, though the audio was tough to bear, and the in-between scenes in the park, etc. could use a little more rehearsal. Does the cameraperson always wear closed-ear headphones to check the audio? I can’t believe I would ever say this, but I would like to see h.264/X264 instead of/in addition to divx. I’ve been a divx/xvid fanboy for a long time, but I’m finally warming up to 264’s superior quality:bitrate ratio.
